wine judging

Use your skill and judgement to spot our hero amongst fellow wine judges in Maastricht...

I am a regular judge at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. For the first few years this was held in Brussels, as its name implies. However, the event has grown and now tours Europe, having been in Maastricht in 2007, Bordeaux in 2008 and Valencia in 2009.
The Concours is a wine competition of the very highest standards with a huge array of international tasting talent as judges. Together we taste our way through hundreds and hundreds of wines choosing the winners that show themselves to have integrity of style, elegance, breeding and sheer excellence. The 2009 entries were the most impressive yet, I awarded 13 Gold Medals!

A bottle that bears a sticker saying that it has won a medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is a bottle of wine that you will enjoy.

Some of my favourite top medal winners this year were:
Protos Crianza 2006, Ribera del Duero,  Spain - Great Gold Medal
Adega Vila Real Grande Reserva 2005 Douro White, Portugal - Great Gold Medal
Pérez Cruz Limitada Syrah Reserva Limited Edition 2007, Chile - Gold Medal
Caliterra Tributo Shiraz 2007, Chile - Gold Medal
Cune Crianza Rioja 2005, Spain - Silver Medal
Tabali Reserva Especial Syrah 2007 - Silver Medal
